RoboNag Privacy Policy

This policy explains what RoboNag collects, why, and what you can do about it. RoboNag is made by Yoram Perehia Alhadeff, trading as PERFECTO Languages ("we", "us"). Contact: hello@perfectolanguages.com

The short version

• Most of RoboNag runs on your phone. Your nags, streaks, Hall of Shame and your own proof photos stay there.
• Online features (calls, texts, buddies, RoboNag Connect, AI step breakdowns) need our server, and only send what those features need.
• We never store your location. We don't sell your personal information.
• Connect proof photos are deleted after 7 days.
• You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

What stays on your phone

• Your nags: titles, schedules, intensity, nagger, steps, stakes.
• Your progress: streaks, completions, ignored nags, Hall of Shame, report cards.
• Proof for your own nags: photos you take (saved in the app), location check-ins (checked on the phone, then discarded), step counts (read from your phone's motion sensor).
• Your settings, and the name you type in.

What we store on our server, and why

We only receive data when you use a feature that needs it.

• Your acceptance of the Terms: a random device ID, the name you typed as your signature, the Terms version, the date and time, how you confirmed (for example Face ID or your phone's passcode; we never see the passcode or your face), your phone type, and the country your connection came from. We keep this as proof that you agreed to be nagged.
• Device ID: a random ID created by the app. It is not your phone number, email or advertising ID.
• Push token: so we can send you notifications from the server (for example Connect and buddy messages).
• Buddy texts (if you turn Snitch Mode on): your buddy's name and number, whether they confirmed and agreed (and when), or declined or replied STOP, the nags needed to decide when to text them, and how many texts were sent this month. Invites themselves are sent by you from your own messaging apps, not by us.
• Phone calls (not available yet): if we add them, only a number you verify yourself and your separate agreement to be called.
• Buddies: your buddy code, your name, and who you're paired with.
• RoboNag Connect: the names senders give receivers, the nags they assign, whether each one was finished, how many nags were ignored, snoozes, and proof photos for those nags (deleted after 7 days). For location proof we only store "checked in: yes", never where.
• AI step breakdowns: the nag title you ask to break down. We keep the resulting steps for 30 days so the same request doesn't cost twice.
• Usage counters: how many limited actions you used (for example AI breakdowns or calls), kept about 40 days, to enforce plan limits.

Who helps us run RoboNag

We share data only with providers that run parts of the service for us, and only what they need:

• Cloudflare: hosts our server and stores the data above.
• Plivo or Twilio: sends buddy texts and confirmation codes (phone numbers and message text).
• Anthropic: turns a nag title into small steps (only the title is sent).
• Expo: delivers push notifications (push token and message).
• Your messaging apps (Messages/iMessage, WhatsApp or others): invites you choose to send go through your own account in those apps, under their privacy policies. We don't see your contacts or your chats.
• Apple, Google and RevenueCat: handle subscriptions and tell us whether you have Pro. We never see your card details.
• Google AdMob (free version only): shows ads. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier and similar data to show and measure ads. On iPhone you'll be asked for permission first; on Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.

We don't sell your data

We don't sell your personal information for money. If personalized ads are on, ad partners may use your advertising identifier; you can turn this off in your phone's privacy settings, or by upgrading to Pro, which has no ads.

How long we keep data

• Connect proof photos: 7 days.
• AI breakdown results: 30 days.
• Usage counters: about 40 days.
• Records of your acceptance of the Terms: for as long as you use RoboNag and up to 3 years after, as proof of consent.
• Everything else: until you delete it, disconnect, or ask us to delete it.

Your choices and rights

• Turn off any online feature in Settings, disconnect from Connect, or remove buddies at any time.
• Delete the app to remove everything stored on your phone.
• Email hello@perfectolanguages.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Include your Device ID (Settings › Show advanced) so we can find it. We'll answer within 30 days.
• Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Union), you may have extra rights, such as to access, delete, or object to the use of your data, and to complain to a data protection authority. We'll honor them.

Children

RoboNag is for people aged 13 and over (under 18 with a parent's or guardian's permission), and RoboNag Connect is for people 13 and over on both sides. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 gave us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

Data travels encrypted (HTTPS). Server data is protected by access controls at Cloudflare. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't put sensitive information (like passwords or health details) in nag titles.

Where data is processed

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, they use legal safeguards for international transfers.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, the app will ask you to review it again. The version and date are shown at the top.
